Zaara
Zaara was rescued by the county from a terrible cruelty case - hoarding and neglect. Her friends Tavie and Pebbles were also rescued at the same time. All three of the ladies were full term pregnant, and in rough shape. The sanctuary that provided them initial care allowed them to give birth in a safe and comfortable environment, and gave them the care that they so badly needed. Once healthy, all 6 were brought to live out their lives here at Tiny Hooves Sanctuary. Zaara’s daughter is Zola. You can often find them grooming each other, or napping - their bond is awesome. Mini donkeys can live to be 50 years old, and we look forward to a life spent with Zaara! She is still a young lady, in her early teens. Zaara’s favorite things in the world are apple horse treats, carrots, and apple slices. Miniature donkeys are very intelligent, they are thinking and reasoning farm animals, and their memory is very powerful. Though Zaara has memories of her past, she has chosen to move forward to her future with her family, filled with love, ear rubs, and cookies.
