Our Methods
At Tiny Hooves, we focus on rehabilitation and sanctuary.
We provide top notch vet care.
Tiny Hooves has a wonderful working relationship with the University of Wisconsin Madison Vet School, Elkhorn Veterinary Clinic, Brook Falls Exotic Animal Hospital, Blue Pearl Emergency Center for Animals, and Willow Springs Vet. All of our residents receive vet care, from our smallest pigeon, to our largest cow! We provide routine health checks, health maintenance, surgeries, medications, and treatment plans.
We provide social and psychological healing.
Farmed animals form bonds just as strongly as humans do. They love their families, they have best friends, they grieve when they suffer a loss. We take it very seriously to provide our residents with the perfect companions for them as individuals. We may have some misfit herds and flocks, but to know that they feel safe and comfortable means everything to us.
We provide forever sanctuary.
The definition of sanctuary: a place of refuge or safety. Tiny Hooves focuses on providing lifelong care to each one of our residents. Assistance is provided to our disabled residents, whether that be a cart or prosthetic, or life long medication. We don’t give up on them when they are sick, and we don’t give up on them as they age. Tiny Hooves provides a safe, secure, healthy, and comfortable space for all of our residents.
We provide education.
Tiny Hooves offers private tours on weekends between the months of April and October. Guests are encouraged to bond with our animals, while hearing their individual stories and backgrounds. We educate the public about animal agriculture, and how to promote positive change. Our beliefs are strong in compassionate education of veganism. Tiny Hooves participates in events on and off of the farm. In the past, we have been a part of pet expos, veg fests, pop-up events, and parties. These events help us to spread our main mission and focus on education and fundraising.
