Sammy
Sammy was surrendered to us in 2020 with his 5 goat friends, 8 chicken friends, 3 goose friends, and 2 duck friends. This entire group came from a business that was not caring for them. A wonderful woman reached out to us to help, as she had been donating her time and money to care for them, because no one else was. Sammy has CAE (caprine arthritis encephalitis), which is a retrovirus that goats get from their mom’s milk that is incurable, but treatable. If affects their central nervous system, and can cause joint, hoof, weight, and hair issues. Joint pain is the number one symptom, which Sammy is already showing signs of. He receives medication twice daily to relieve the swelling, so that he can get around and live a good goat life! He is a big boy, with huge horns, but he is a bundle of love and cuddles. Some of Sammy’s favorite things in life are fresh hay, animal crackers, and laying in the sun with his goat family.
