Ramsay arrived to Tiny Hooves Sanctuary in late summer of 2021 with his 6 other goat family members and 2 farm dog friends. They came from a very tragic situation, where their person was suffering from dementia and nobody knew right away. Unfortunately, Ramsay and his friends suffered severe neglect and trauma that they are still working through today. We are very grateful for their person’s family for stepping in when they could and finding a safe space for all 7 goats and 2 dogs, as well as a safe space for their person.
Ramsay is a Nubian goat that suffers from CAE, a multi system lentivirus that goats contract from their mom’s milk that can affect their bodies their entire life. We keep a close eye on Ramsay to make sure we treat any flare ups he may have in his joints, as arthritis is the number one symptom.
Ramsay is a very timid guy, but once he warms up to you, you’ll be best friends for life. It has taken a lot of time for him to gain trust with us, and we cherish it! He’s sweet, silly, and oh so handsome. Ramsay is a sucker for a good piece of bread or an apple slice!
