Otis and his brother Marvin were surrendered to Tiny Hooves in 2016 after their former people purchased them to be their “pet house pigs”. What the breeder did not tell them was that they were full size, intact males that had never been socialized OR ever lived inside of a house. They were born and raised in a shed by themselves for their entire lives before being sold as a lie to these people. What happened next in the house was a disaster, and both boys were banished outdoors immediately, and then unwanted. The myth of the micro pig is REAL, and Otis is living proof of that. Potbelly pigs grow for the first five years of their lives and can end up as large as 60-350 pounds. This is quite a large pig to have in your house, and we want to stop the misinformation of “micro pigs”. Unless a pig has been trained to live in a house, that situation is usually not best for them. Otis now spends his days lounging about with his brother Marvin, taking snacks from his human friends, and best of all, just getting to be a pig!
