The Journey of Tiny Hooves Farm Sanctuary
Raiden and Peanut at the original 3 acre property!
In the heart of a quiet community and nestled against the backdrop of beautiful countryside lies Tiny Hooves Farm Sanctuary, a home for farm animals in need.
The following is a quick journey through the history of our remarkable sanctuary, where compassion and dedication have shaped the lives of countless animals.
In 2015, our founder, Beca Thompson, a compassionate animal lover with a background in animal rescue work envisioned a sanctuary where farm animals could escape the horrors of factory farming and live out their lives in peace. Armed with a dream and unwavering determination, Beca found a modest plot of land and laid the foundation for what would become Tiny Hooves.
With the help of devoted volunteers and the support of the local community, Tiny Hooves began to take shape. The initial inhabitants were a small group of 5 rescued goats and 6 mini donkeys, each bearing the scars of a past filled with neglect and cruelty. Beca and her team worked tirelessly to rehabilitate these gentle souls, providing them with medical care, proper nutrition, and, most importantly, love and attention.
Quickly, Tiny Hooves began to expand . . . as did the number of animals in need. Pigs, sheep, goats, chickens and even a peacock found their way to the sanctuary's gates, seeking refuge from lives of suffering and exploitation. With each new arrival, the sanctuary's mission grew stronger: to offer a safe haven for all farm animals, regardless of their past.
The sanctuary's dedicated team of caregivers, including veterinarians, animal behaviorists, and passionate volunteers, worked hand in hoof to ensure that every resident received the specialized care they required. From designing predator proof enclosures to providing hospice care for animals that never before would have known what aging meant ~ no effort was spared to give these animals the best quality of life possible.
Recognizing the importance of education in fostering compassion and understanding, Tiny Hooves opened its doors to schools, community groups, and families eager to learn about the lives of farm animals. Through volunteer workdays and workshops, tours, and outreach programs, we continue to raise awareness about the ethical treatment of animals and the benefits of a plant-based lifestyle.
Tiny Hooves stands as a testament to the power of compassion and the ability to create positive change in the world; to the incredible impact that a single vision, fueled by compassion, can have on the lives of countless animals. From its humble beginnings Tiny Hooves has blossomed into a thriving refuge, offering hope, healing, and a haven for all hooves. As we look to the future, we are reminded that the journey of compassion is never-ending, and with each step we take, we have the power to create a kinder, more harmonious world for all beings. With over 160 animals calling the sanctuary home, it continues to inspire and touch the lives of all who visit. Through trials and triumphs, Tiny Hooves has become a beacon of hope, reminding us that with love and dedication, we can make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
