Lionel was our very first pig resident! He is a Vietnamese potbelly pig. Lionel was surrendered to Kane County Animal Control, after they picked him up running down a highway. They later found out that he had been purchased as a “micro pig” when he was a baby, to be a house pet. He then escaped the yard, and his people no longer wanted him. The myth of the micro pig is REAL, and Lionel is living proof of that. Potbelly pigs grow for the first five years of their lives and can end up as large as 60-350 pounds. This is quite a large pig to have in your house, and we want to stop the misinformation of “micro pigs”.
As of March 2016, Lionel has called Tiny Hooves his forever home! Lionel's intelligence and curiosity are stunning, as are his antics for naughtiness and drama! Often you will find him asking for belly rubs, or a snuggle in the straw. Lionel is roughly 200 pounds of love! His favorite foods are strawberries, green beans, and animal crackers.
