Black Bean was born at Tiny Hooves Sanctuary two months after her mom, aunts, and uncles were rescued from an abuse and neglect situation. She and her brother Roscoe were born to their mom Lovely in February of 2018. Black Bean was the smallest of all of the babies, and was having a hard time nursing. She became very ill at 3 weeks old, and we stepped in to give her the help she needed. Black Bean was a house pig until she was fully grown and healthy, when she then rejoined her family. Since healing, she has only known good days in sanctuary, and we are proud to say that! She enjoys her days eating snacks, laying in the sun, burying herself under the warm straw in the winter, and taking dips in the pools and mud pit in the summer. Her best friend is Ziggy, and sometimes friends become your family! Pigs often do not get to stay within their family units, but in sanctuary, they can! Black Bean is a sweet and silly little pig, who is always asking us humans for love and hugs. Her favorite foods are strawberries and carrots!
